In Year 6, we discussed good Digital Citizenship and appropriate use of others' digital content online. We used google's advanced image search to find images licensed for re-use. We created a beach image using a number of pictures. We brought all the images one by one into out 'beach' working file as layers, named our layers and manipulated them using tools like the Magic Wand, Eraser and Select. Some images had to be scaled to desired sizes. Students learned a great deal about some features of Art Weaver Free, a free to download and install image editor for windows computers. One could also load and run Photoshop filters if they purchase the professional version, Artweaver Plus.
