Educreations (free) is one of my favorite iPad apps. It has recently been updated (Sept 2014), adding features i think will be of good use in classrooms across the school. Educreations can be accessed both on the computer using a web browser and on the iPad. I have used the screen shots i saw on the welcome screen soon after i installed the update on my iPad to explain how it can be used in your class.
The following interactive images act as a tutorial for Educreations explaining the different tools within the app. Hover your mouse over the images (if you are on a computer) or simply touch (if you are on a mobile device) to see descriptions.
I used the thinklink (free) iPad app to create the above interactive images.

Below is a tutorial created to help teachers quickly re-size or touch up photos for use on their blogs, websites or publications. The tutorial also shows some opportunities for image editing skills to be applied in any classroom. The tool used in this tutorial is Picmonkey, a free web based application. At this point, Picmonkey is not available on the iPad. Note - younger students may not be able to use and apply these skills.
